We’re Number 1! And 2… and 3… and 5… and 6… and 9…

July 5, 2012

When Total Car Score decided to celebrate America’s Independence Day with a roll-up of the top ten American automobiles, we knew we would be included. After all, with brands like Cadillac, Buick, Chevy, and GMC, we have some of the best cars available in the industry. We even expected to see one of our best at the top of the list with the highest Total Car Score in American vehicles. However, what we didn’t expect, but should have known, was that we took six of the ten places with our lineup. Visit Palm Springs Cadillac at Jessup Auto Plaza  for a more intimate look at the full range of award-winning vehicles in our showroom.

The Total Car Score report compiles ratings from up to nine major review sources. No report generates if less than five of the nine are available. Car buyers benefit from an apples-to-apples comparison, instead of trying to make sense of multiple scoring systems. This list ranks model years 2012 and 2013, so these cars are available to you now.

The Cadillac CTS came in first, with a Total Car Score of 86.49. It’s fantastic to see that American consumers have embraced a luxury car made in the US, after many years of passing Cadillac over in favor of European brands. The Buick LaCrosse took second place, with a Total Car Score of 85.01. This is fitting for the model that has reinvented Buick, from a grandparents’ car to a cool twenty-something’s ride. From responsive handling to a powerful engine, the LaCrosse is a popular choice across generations.

The Chevy Traverse earned an 84.87 to come in at third place, we suspect because it is one of the few SUVs that comfortably fits eight adults. In fifth, the GMC Acadia was recognized for striking the perfect balance between large truck-based SUVs and minivans. Sixth was the Cadillac CTS, and ninth was the Cadillac SRX. Overall, we think this is an excellent showing – six out of ten places going to vehicles we have available right now. Visit Palm Springs Cadillac at Jessup Auto Plaza to learn more.
