In Heavy-Duty Shootout, Chevy and GMC Hold Strong

August 31, 2010

If you’re going to trust any website as the definitive, final word on all things pickup truck, then is the site to choose. They live and breathe power, durability, and performance just as much as the engineers who build these trucks do.

So when held a 2010 Heavy-Duty Shootout to compare the biggest, baddest trucks on the road (or off) earlier this month, their results got a lot of attention. As a Coachella Valley GMC and Chevrolet dealership, we are proud to say that our trucks represented themselves very well. Of the three categories tested (three-quarter ton gas, three-quarter ton diesel, and one-ton), General Motors swept two of the three.

  • Official results hail this truck’s “ride and handling and steering characteristics, which we now think are the benchmarks in the segment,” as well as its “combination of powerful Duramax diesel, all-new frame and suspension and excellent fuel economy.”

2011 GMC Sierra Denali 3500HD – Winner, One-Ton Diesel

  • Of six power contests, “this amazing truck took the top spot in four.” As with the Silverado, liked the Sierra Denali’s ride and handling, “and its braking abilities were significantly better than its one-ton competitors.” On the whole, “we could tow with a Sierra Denali all day long and feel as confident driving it as it looks good on the road.”

If you’re looking for a heavy duty pickup truck in or near the Coachella Valley, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Denali are  a great place to start, and so is our Cathedral City GM dealership. Proudly serving Cathedral City, La Quinta, Beaumont, Palm Desert, Yucaipa, Hemet, Indio, Palm Springs, and other nearby cities.
