Drive Safe in Cathedral City: Cadillac SRX Earns TOP SAFETY PICK award

August 12, 2010

Nation-wide, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, or IIHS, is one of two organizations whose recommendations hold the highest clout in terms of safe vehicles. (The other is the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.)

This month, the IIHS gave the 2010 Cadillac SRX with their TOP SAFETY PICK award. Standards for hard-to-earn award have been raised in recent years to include rollover accidents, which has caused many vehicles to no longer be eligible for the organization’s recommendation.

But the Cadillac SRX is designed to be safe all around, and it has the IIHS’s nod of approval. In each type of crash test done, the results are measured as Good, Acceptable, Marginal, or Poor.

To earn the TOP SAFETY PICK award from IIHS, the 2010 SRX earned the following:

  • Front offset test results: GOOD
  • Side impact test results: GOOD
  • Roof strength test results: GOOD
  • Rear crash protection/head restraint rating: GOOD
