First 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Is Special Edition

May 18, 2010

The 2010 Chevrolet Corvette is a stunning car, as evidenced by this Corvette ZR1, which is occupying a prized place in the showroom of our Cathedral City Chevrolet dealership. But the very first Corvette of the model year, VIN #00001, is an exceptionally exceptional Corvette.

It’s a special edition model celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Corvette’s first class win at Le Mans, which took place, of course, in 1960. The car was a 1960 Briggs Cunningham Corvette, and the special edition 2010 recreation pays full homage to the original.

Rather than being sold at auction, as some special editions are, this one will be available at base price (around $85,000) for the first donor willing to contribute $300,000 (tax deductible) to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
